Do boxer dogs like to follow you around?

Are boxer dogs one of those dogs that prefer you over the rest of the people in your family and follow you around a lot??
Is it possible to train it to be less hyper?
What are some things to do with it to keep it entertained routinely?

well my boxer follows me around more then she follows my mom cause she is mostly with me at all times but if im not home she will follow my mom and she will look for me around the house but she can’t find me cause i go to work.. no they will be hyper and till they get older that is all dogs!

Boxers are a happy going breed. They dont typically bond with one person, in a boxers mind, THE MORE THE MERRIER. They will follow everyone around. They want to be included in everything 24/7. You cant really train a dog to lose its spunk. Boxers are VERY hyper dogs and need lot of excercise and physical endurance to keep from bouncing off the walls. Almost every Boxer is hyper, with a few expectional couch potatos (a calm boxer is rare) all the ones i met, Jumped on top of me just to say "Hi". I suggest a kong filled with peanut butter to keep them entertained. Or maybe even a kong filled with wet dog food and then freeze it. (its very entertaining to watch them conquer the kong) Rawhides arnt good for dogs, but are okay occasionally so those can help. Plastic/rubber bones by nylone are very good and can be found at walmart. or petstores. LOTS OF WALKS. I hope i helped. Good luck

Yup, all dogs with be like that. And get him one of those rubber toys that you put the treat inside. It takes them forever to get to the treat, and he will defiantly be entertained.

Boxer’s will follow you around like crazy. We have three. They are attention lovers and love love love to be around people. They will form bonds with whoever is in the house hold but will have a special connection with one person. It just all depends on who they spend more time with. They are extremely entergetic. I reccommend a large yard cause you wont break their energy. But they are AMAZING dogs

Yes they will follow you around. They LOVE people and are eager to please. especially their "master". As others said they like to be involvedx in everything. They are a very hyper dog and the only way to calm them is to let them run and play with other dogs in a large open space. Leashed walks are not enough. I can take my boxer for a run 2 hours a day and she is still going. They are AMAZING very cuddly dogs and are great family pets but require ALOT pf wprk and attention as well as proper training or they can be out of control and over bearing. If you have the time and patience and like to give receive alot of affection and kisses, then there is no better breed. If that is not you or you are looking for a calm breed, better to look at another breed.

The Boxer is described as a "hearing" guard dog, meaning he’s alert and watchful. When he’s not clowning for you, he’s dignified and self-assured. With children, he’s playful and patient. Strangers are greeted with a wary attitude, but he responds politely to friendly people. He’s aggressive only in defense of his family and home.
