I love cockers!! I …
I love cockers!! I have two..
I have one couple …
I have one couple of cockers, and since puppies they shiver…even in their sleep… i don’t know the reason why, but it must be something fisiological. Some breeds like chihuahua are shivering all the time, so i must be something that they’re born with… the ones i have quiver if they’re afraid of something or really happy when me and the rest of the family comes to home. In this case it could be the camera…
@Ibik because the …
@Ibik because the cameras are on him.
Cocker spaniels are …
Cocker spaniels are great dogs. Just be prepared to give them a LOT of exercise or they will get frustrated and bad-tempered.
2 walks per day. And I don’t mean a 10 minute walk. The walks should be at least 45 minutes long. My cocker spaniel also does 30 minutes per day on the treadmill. I also give him a 60 minute run on the beach every Saturday and Sunday.
why i is he …
why i is he shivering?
But my cocker – …
But my cocker – half English, half American, and from a pet store originally so probably from a second-rate breeder, if not a puppy mill, though I will just repeat that we got her second-hand, NOT from a pet store – shakes sometimes too, and it’s only nerves. She used to pee, whine, bark, etc. until we got her a crate and some rules/structure.
I’m no vet, so I don’t know about yours, but the one in this video looks more nervous – which cockers are, a lot – than anything else.
Well what I should …
Well what I should have said “I believe a recessive gene thats weak has become dominant”
My Frankencocker- half cocker, and unknown DNA from a one night stand- will sometimes shake like that for no apparent reason.
This is why I believe its of neurological orgin rather than being cold
This was kind of a …
This was kind of a poor video – no real information (why watch the video when it says “Go find info on the internet”?) and no real discussion of the real advantages/disadvantages of a cocker. Like how they LOOK really cute, but need a firm/experienced owner or they can get kind of nervous. Like this dog seems to be.
Also, maybe not such a good idea to post a video with the dog quivering in fear.
@Trailltrader I …
@Trailltrader I agree that cockers are too inbred – they were too popular, esp. in the 50s – but the consequence is an ‘uppity’ breed, not one with neurological disorders. My cocker (a rescue) shakes sometimes, but it’s just because she’s nervous, not because she’s crazy or has a physiological problem.
So you bore us to …
So you bore us to tears with the history of your mutt? Thank You- I feel so spiritually edifieid- NOT
What we’re looking …
What we’re looking at is a dog thats from a puppy mill thats been inbred too often- thats how you get that neurological disorder.
As far as teh dogs “terrified of that lady”?
Vilquin Productions is obviously an idiot and believes everything PETA writes about- including the stupid parts
That dog’s …
That dog’s terrified of that lady! Animal abuser.
why arent u …
why arent u answering? why was the dog shaking like this? that wasnt normal AT ALL!
WHY is this dog …
WHY is this dog shaking? What is wrong neurologically wrong with this animal?
If the dog was cold, the narrators nipples would be hard and showing- whats wrong with this picture?
The dogs legs got …
The dogs legs got broken so that it would sit still for the video. It’s quivering in pain.
My dog certainly …
My dog certainly isn’t hyper.
My dog is happy to live indoors.
My dog does not look like a farm collie.
I am not interested in anyone elses dog!
I took ages finding my dog as no-one was breeding. In the end I travelled over two hundred miles to find her…if thats flooding the market, then I reckon I must have looked during a drought.
personally I cant see the point of dogs shows…my dog is 39cm high and weighs the perfect 14kg…whoope bloody doo. My dog is happy, end of!
Thanks.u are not …
Thanks.u are not doing the breed any favours with video!. And Totton – if you can generalise , then me too – How can you prefer a working cocker? Totally hyper, not suitable to live in a home, most look like farm collies with long ears – what’s the point? When problems arise buyers look to the show-type breed club rescue help, yet a lot of working type breeders dont contribute to the breed club – many churning out puppies for money flooding the market/
If your Cocker is …
If your Cocker is attacking other dogs at your home, you need to walk them 2 times per day all together. This will teach him where he places in the “pecking order” place in the pack/family.
Your dog is scared …
Your dog is scared and is defending you and himself.
1. Dont yell- this makes the dog think you are being aggressive too and he is right to feel defensive.
2. Remove dog from other dogs.
3. If it is a dog park- only go back when the park is virtually empty
The dog in this vid …
The dog in this vid is an English “Show” Cocker Spaniel. Much prefer the Working Cocker Spaniel as they don’t need grooming so much and are great fun loving dogs…always on the go, but also happy to chill out.
I’m peeing on you …
I’m peeing on you because I’m so afraid. I’m shaking too!
