I have to go and rescue some dogs my sister was breeding and not taking good enough care of.. I am keeping two of them but I need to get rid of the other two. They are sweet dogs and just need love and care – all I ask is someone pay for their shots and they can have them? I live in Florida and am only going to be in Michigan for Sat – Tues.
Contact the local ASPCA. Little dogs are always in demand or find a group that specifically rescues Maltese dogs.

Call the vets in the area, or the local kennel club and get a number for Maltese rescue. They should be spayed/neutered before going to anyone, if that is not done already.

Check with some Maltese Rescues. Im sure there are lots on YahooGroups. There is no doubt in my mind you can find someone who can rehome them if you cant.
Good luck and Goddess Bless!

I hope you are not going to dump them or abadoned them. You should have given yourself more time to find a proper home.

Try the local humane society, if they can’t accept them contact a Maltese rescue group. There are rescue groups for just about every breed of dog. Search on-line for a rescue or call the humane society for more info. I’m sure somewhere, someone would love to have a Maltese.

Take them to the Humane Society or animal shelter. If you look on petfinder.com or infospace.com, you should be able to find one. Just to let you know..the two you’re taking home with you will need health certificates from the vet before they can legally cross state lines. That just means the vet will need to make sure they’re healthy enough for the trip and current on shots.

There should be a Maltese rescue in the area that would gladly take them. Please do not take them to the pound where they will be put down.

Check petfinder.com and do a search for any Maltese or small dog rescue groups in the Michigan area. If you contact them and explain your situation, they’re usually pretty good about helping you out.
Also, you could always turn the dogs into the local Humane Society (not animal control). Dogs are often safer going into the Humane Society where they’ll be given their shots, spayed/neutered as necessary, and cleaned up prior to being adopted out. Potential adoptees will also have to answer many questions regarding their ability to care for a new pet before the dog is adopted out to them.
If you try to merely give your dogs away, they could wind up with someone who will try to breed them, mishandle them, or try to sell them to an animal testing facility.

IM not really sure where romulus is in Michigan but if it is possible for you to get to Walker MI there is an amazing humane society there. They are open Tue-Fri 12-7 and sat 11-4. It does cost a little bit to turn a dog in (Because they are 100% run by donations and transfer of care fees and are non-profit) they are amazing there, they temperment test all of the dogs and all are spayed/neutered before they are adopted out. They interview all possible families first to be sure they match the dog to the right owner. All of the staff treat the dogs like family, not like a job, if you know what i mean, they are great there. For more info visit hskc.org or call 616-453-8900. If you cant make it out there you can search petfinder.org and look for a humane society/animal shelter/rescue in that area and give them a call to see if they accept dogs and what their policies are. Goodluck, i hope you find them a good home.
