What are some dog breeds that you believe are best to purchase from the country they originated from?

Just wondering.

Also, do you think that for some breeds, the country they originated from try and stay more true to the breed than other countries that sell/breed the same breed?

If you could purchase any dog breed from another country-what breed would it be?

Also I apologize if some wording for this question seems off, I couldn’t think of how to word some of it better. Thank you in advance to anyone to responds!
Thank you all for your input, it was interesting to read and many gave good points.

well that is not generally true, there are some cases where the breed is more correct from their originated countries, like german pointers from germany, vizslas from hungary, russian toy terriers from russia, akita inu from japan, german shepherds from germany… these breeds (well the ones that are actually coming to me now) if you choose to get them from their originated countries, they would be nicer… but i have also seen dogs like yorkshire terriers, in poland they have kennels of the nicest looking dogs, also in hungary… chihuahuas the same, and i believe that most dogs that you would purchase from russia would be absolutely stunning, i.e french poodles of all the sizes, chinese crested both hairless and powder-puff, afghan hounds, german shepherds, caucasian shepherds and so many more… i believe it all has to do with breeding the right dogs together, finding the finest bloodlines, all my dogs apart from my yoirkies came from russia… they all became champions in my country and in russia too. so it all comes down to crossing the best of the best bloodlines together

How long do Maltese dogs live for? have you ever had one?

I have a 5 year old Maltese who is like my child he is so spoiled and I love him a lot! I was wondering how long do they usualy live for and if you had one had long did yours live for and what was the problem when he/she passed? What are there health probelms?

While 12-14 years is the average lifespan of a Maltese, some live less, some live more. It’s very important that your dog is fed a natural high quality nutrient dense kibble, along with some healthy wet food. And proper dental care is of the up most importance. Too often I meet small breed pet owners whose dogs are missing several, or almost all of their teeth. By age 3, 75% of all dogs develop periodontal disease. Some other area of concerns can be the knees, thyroid, and eyes. I recommend regular vet check ups, and lots of love!

What is the difference between a "bull" and a "diamond" boxer (dogs)?

I really want to know what the big difference is or if there is even a difference between what they call bull and diamond boxers…and is there any other kind of boxer other than by their color brindle, white ect…please explain in details and if you can show pictures or show site..

a boxer is a boxer. anyone selling a "super special" kind of boxer is a backyard breeder and should be avoided.

ADD: Good link John. The actual breeder "Diamond Boxers" looks amazing.

Do dogs act differently after you take them home from a pet store?

I want to pet a dog from a pet store but its kind of hyper when I was playing with it. I was told they act get a lot more hyper when you bring them home. Is this true?

In some cases yes.
I can only give you my own experience. I was looking into getting a puppy. Had found one I wanted to look at, had contacted the people. They lived out on a farm so I drove out there met with them. Discussed the breed and interacted with the puppy. He was a 5 month old shelter. The sweetest thing I have ever seen. He laid there and when I picked him up he nuzzled into my jacket and put his nose inside my collar. I was in love and when I asked if he wanted to go home with me it actually seemed like he nodded his head.
We went to petco and bought his supplies. The whole time me carrying him around because he gave me the most pitiful puppy look if I put him down. For the next 2 weeks we were ultimate snuggle buddies. We would watch movies cuddled up and he would lay right next to me in bed.
After 2 weeks Im not sure what happened..but he became a complete different dog. He would not sit still to save him and became very yippy and to be honest completely annoying.
I think he finally felt 100% comfortable with me but really I have no explanation for it.
I still have him to this day and love him to death but he is the most hyperactive(possibly mentally retarded) dog I have ever had.
TThat’sthe only experience Ive ever had with a dog acting differently once at home.
Though I have had many pets growing up none ever seemed too different than at the store. Definitely more comfortable but not more hyper.

Are boxer dogs prone to separation anxiety?

When I leave my house my 10 month old Boxer dog wines the entire time until I get back. And he never spends more than an hour by himself, when he’s with you he has to be touching you, laid on you or licking you or something. And he’s really cautious, he sits outside and watches the yard. Or stares at the woods for hours on end.
He’s half boxer & half rottweiler.
I’m just wondering if they get anxiety or separation anxiety.

nope
just not enough training, exercise and socialization not breed

Neighbors"s Ultrasonic Animal Repeller bothering my maltese dogs?

My neighbors have just installed an "ultrasonic animal repeller" in their yard that is a nightmare for squirrels, birds and for my precious maltese dogs. This device is not pointed to my yard but my dogs refuse to go out. How can I handle this situation as these neighbors are unapproachable?.

You don’t really have any choice other than to go and talk to your neighbors and ask them to remove the device. If you feel endangered by speaking to them, bring an imposing male friend with you.

Is it weird to give anthropomorphic cats and dogs pet cats and dogs in a cartoon?

I am writing a comic book about streetfighting cats and dogs. Some of them have watchdogs they keep as pets. I am wondering is it weird to give them pet cats? In some of the old Disney caroons Goofy had Pluto as a pet. In Goof Troop the Goofs had a pet cat and the Petes had a dog. I don’t see that as being any different. Please help.

Anything that makes your comic seem more interesting is good. It may be less common, but I wouldn’t say strange, it’s more "fantastical" and "boundary-pushing".

I’ve seen quite a few comics where the anthropomorphic characters have pets (I’ve even seen pets with pets with pets). In fact, sometimes these pets are as equally anthropomorphised as their animal owners.

However, I recommend that you made the pets less anthropomorphic just to make them seem more like, well… "pets".

Do pet dogs think they are part of the family?

My mom said that a dog thinks that our family is a "pack", and that he’s "one of us". Do dogs really think that way? Or does the dog understand we are an independant family and that he’s just a pet?

What!!?!?!?! A dog should KNOW that it IS a part of the family. Why wouldn’t it be? Yes, they do think that way and you should too.

how does inbreeding dogs affect their health?

Does breeding a dog back into the same family, and the closeness to AKC standard affect it’s health and how.
Inbreeding and Line Breeding should only be done by professionals That said, Inbreeding is the breeding of two closely related dogs. Father to Daughter, Mother to Son, Half Brother to Half Sister, and Full Brother to Full Sister are all inbred kids beds breeding’s. And they are the only inbred breeding’s. Anything further away, is NOT inbreeding. Because a dog is inbred, does NOT automatically make that dog a bad dog or of bad breeding practices or quality. Without careful inbreeding, by the founders of each breed, we would not have the breeds we have today. Inbreeding can be a valuable tool when used conveyancing solicitors properly. On the other hand when used carelessly by backyard breeders or puppy mills and people just in it for the money, things can go terribly wrong. When doing a breeding of this type, you are doubling up on the bad as well as the good. And something that may not be seen in one dog (usually referred to as a recessive gene or trait) may very well become the dominate gene or trait in the resulting offspring of such a breeding. That is not to say however that inbreeding is at the root of all the genetic problems and behavioral issues that we are seeing today. You can have those same issues arise from careless people wood splitter breeding dogs together on a whim. The problem lies in the fact that we unfortunately have genetic issues in dogs that we have no testing for. So yes, when doing ANY kind of breeding, you are taking your chances. Being a true breeder means striving for certain goals in your breeding and wood splitter being willing to take the bad with the good. LINE BREEDING Line breeding is one of the best tools to use in breeding when trying to produce your own lines. Examples of line breeding are: Grandfather to Granddaughter, Grandmother to Grandson (these breeding’s are usually considered the best in line breeding), Aunt to Nephew, Uncle to Niece, Cousin to Cousin, and so on. Once again these types of breeding’s loft beds are NOT inbreeding. So just because you have the same dog more than once in your pedigree does NOT necessarily mean that your dog is inbred. Line breeding is a way to double up on a line of dogs, increasing your ability to become consistent in producing a Vapor4Life certain type. Many breeders use this method for producing their own lines.

How did dog breeds changed their appearance so much in such a short time of evolution?

how did dog breeds changed their appearance so much in such a short time of evolution ? I mean mobile local fusion there are very significant differences between dog breeds e.g. chiwawa vs great dane. It sais that people selected LED Grow and breed them in the last thousands of years. A few thousands of years seems vortech supercharger a very short period to me for such big differences.
That is the power of artificial selection. Breeders selected for the traits that massage tables were desired and only those dogs reproduced. Look at the Siberian poker tables Fox experiment. All it took was 10 generations for domesticated foxes to emerge. Imagine how much more changes could be selected for over centuries. The miniature breeds share stock trading courses a mutation near a gene for a toenail fungus treatment growth factor receptor. A common mutation may result in a common trait.
