Does your dog get jeaous when you pet the dogs of other people?

My Cockapoo just gets so angry he starts hopping around barking. He is fine UNTIL I pet that other dog.

oh yes. My dog used to be really bad and would get jelous if I read a book or hugged my kids. I thought it was cute for awhile, and than I started feeling that he was ‘over stepping’ his boundaries. since than I push him away when he nudges in and he gives me more space and allows me to choose when to give him affection. He still asks, but I only comply when convient to me. I don’t want him jelous of my kids! It is alot better now.

Yes my dog doesn’t like it. If he sees me petting another dog at the dog park, he will come up to me and wedge himself between me and the other dog.

My dog is so used to being around other dogs, it doesn’t bother him if I pet them, but he definitely get jealous if I am holding a baby. He doesn’t turn mean, but he barks and lets me know he’s not happy.

Yup. Dogs have feelings too. Whenever I hug my dad (who is the alpha of the family), my dog jumps up and tries to break us apart. Don’t be worried by it, though. Completely normal.

Yes, very much so. They’re protective and of course want your attention instead of you giving it to another dog!

If they are a spoiled dog and none of the attention is put on them but if they are a lazy dog that runs around with other dogs in ur household then they are used to it!!

I have two dogs and when I pet the other one they freak out and bark and howl and run in circles, same thing when I pet other dogs or hold my niece. I think it is normal, just make sure you can control it

Yes that is normal for a dog! But there are ways to fix that problem. There are many ways here are just a few. 1. You can have another dog over and tell your dog to sit. Pet the other dog while he is sitting. When he starts to bark say sit and stop petting the other dog and when he stops barking give him a treat. 2.Have him socialise with other dogs. Pet both of them at a time. On google it shows many ways just google How to train a dog to not be jealous or some other way of putting it many things will come up!

My dogs dont mind since we have 2 other dogs (besides that one) and foster a bunch! At first Eddie (the first dog) was really jealous of the others coming in, but hes such a goofy friendly dog he just got along and bonded with them right away!
