Why do people still have pet dogs when they know they kill?

Many people have pet dogs but they know that they can kill with their bites. Millions of people die each year due to dog bites, usually the owner but sometimes innocent people such as kids.

Dogs are clearly wild animals, let them be wild, they are unsafe.

Oh and it isn’t just ALWAYS because the owner has treated them bad.
I was biten by a random dog for no reason.
I was at a park, dog was running lose and attacked me.

PEOPLE ARE MORONIC SCUM IN GENERAL , AND DOGS ARE DANGEROUS
A LOT OF LITTLE BOYS WITH SMALL PENISES LIKE TO HAVE A BIG DOG BECAUSE THEY CANT FIGHT AND THEY FEEL SCARED,
PEOPLE SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED DOGS WITHOUT A LICENSE, LIKE A GUN . OR ANYTHING ELSE WHICH CAN KILL

It’s because the dog had poor socialization as a puppy and it is IT’S OWNERS fault. Stop being so ignorant. Go to YouTube and search rottweiler being tickled and you’ll se what I mean.

    Well not all dogs bite..
For example, a Siberian husky would be more likely to kill than a Labrador. Purely because huskies are more wild at spirit and belong in the mountains with their family/ancestors..so yeah it can also depend on the nature of the dog.

There’s always a reason why you got bit. Honey, all pets are wild animals. Are you saying we should get rid of all of our pets? Aren’t we too wild animals, after all?

Bottom Line: Your point is invalid.

*sniff sniff* I smell a troll.

Dogs are not wild animals . If you where to put dogs in to the wild they would not survive . Because they are domesticated . Which is the total opposite to wild .
They would not hunt and likely freeze in cold temprature as they do nt have the capabilities to make dens such as wolves that are wild animals .
That’s has got to be this silliest statment i have heard in a while . Are you joking ?

Millions of people do not die each year due to dog bites . What a wildly exagerted statistic.
Millions of people die each year due to car acidents , drugs , murder but NOT DOG BITES .
Where are you getting your statistics ? Oh yeah , you made them up.

Put this question in the dog section , for some real statistics and sme real education on the domesticated dog

    The dog wasn’t "random".
You were near the dog when you were bitten.
"For no reason" isn’t true because you were near the dog for SOME reason.
You could have walked up to it and scared it.
You could have been petting him.
You could have been in his yard unsupervised.

Not all kids are "innocent people".
There are kids that abuse animals, kill their own parents, bully eachother…
    Get your facts right.

    EDIT:

Did the "park" happen to be a dog park? T_T
    Did you approach the dog?

    Troll?

"Dogs are clearly wild animals, let them be wild"
No actually, you are very wrong. Dogs are domestic animals; essentially man-made beings. They do NOT belong in the wild. Educate yourself.

For the sheer number of dogs in the world, there are very, very few truly dangerous dogs, and even then its is the fault of people (poor socialisation, abuse etc).
People on the other hand are always dangerous through their own fault.

    I have a dog.
I have never been bitten aggressively by him and have no intention of getting rid of him.
    Grow up.

Not all dogs are dangerous. My neighbor has a rottweiler and he’s super sweet they even have 2 little daughters one is 3 and the other is one and he is sooooo gentle with them. They love nothing more than to give rocky treats all he does is sit and take nice. So just because you had a bad experience doesn’t mean every dog is like that. I could tell you of at least 20 dogs I know that are sweet hearts.

Well as my dogs would never hurt a fly. There is one exception. Ur name is Mrs Barbie… my dogs eat Barbies sooo be careful. Stupid troll. If a puppy dosent have the right training and socialization and/or its beat n hated on then yes it MIGHT have aggressive tendincies. But sometimes the animal will be more lovable twords its "rescuer" if its had a bad past life. I hate trolls.

Maybe you should think about what you just wrote. EVERY dog has a differnt attitude. Different way, and different behavior. Some dogs are sweet as can be, and very loving, and some are just plain mean. But humans are the same way. some of us are nice, and some of us are cold hearted a** holes. No one cares what one person thinks. if someone wants a dog, there gunna get one. Thats all i got to say.

Dogs are not wild animals. What do you think would happen to a golden retriever if you left it to fend for itself? It would die, most likely. Dogs are fully domesticated and extremely useful members of society. Dogs perform all sorts of amazing tasks…sniffing out drugs, detecting bombs, helping to catch criminals, guarding homes and buildings from burglars, herding sheep and cattle and lots more. Human history would look VERY different without dogs being a part of it.

Yes, dogs have killed millions of people. But how many millions of lives do you think they have saved by detecting bombs, rescuing people lost in the mountains, preventing heroin and cocaine coming into various countries? Dogs have definitely done more good than ill.

The problem lies in people buying unsuitable dogs for their home and not training them correctly. Most people are not going to be able to give a husky the exercise it needs or a collie the mental stimulation it needs and THAT is when the problems start.

If dogs are wild animals why are they genetically distinct from their ancestor the wolf? If they were wild they would still be wolves, but they are not.

So you were bitten by a dog…I’m sorry, but it happens. Millions of people have been SAVED by dogs. Millions of elderly people with no family to keep them company rely on their little yorkshire terrier to be their company. Dogs have saved children drowning and in house fires. Dogs are heroes. It’s only when humans destroy them that they become savages. Blame the idiots who think its OK to chain a pit bull in a back garden with no water 24 hours a day, not the dogs.
