How to make dogs really sick?

The area where I live, I have a big problem of street dogs barking all night. I’m fed up with it. I’m thinking of giving them smthing to eat that –
1. is easily available (an OTC drug, for example).
2. would make them really sick and weak, so that they stop barking and fighting with each other.

PS – I’ve even thought of poisoning them, but I guess that’s too cruel…
For all those thinking of writing some hatred post –
Move in to my area and try waking up at 6 AM everyday…

They are harming you and therefore not "harmless", as some of the answers have stated.
Call animal control, but unfortunately you probably won’t see results quickly. Resources are stretched tight all over and for some reason, no matter what we do, there just seems to be more dogs. Do you live in downtown Los Angeles? Right now there are so many stray dogs, they catch 35 a day and still say for every one they catch 2 more got away!! Just imagine the noise and mess!!
Spay or neuter people.
As for you, see if you can rent traps yourself at the SPCA and/or animal control. There is a small rental fee and another fee if you want to bring in a stray, but it might be worth it to you. Maybe get together with your neighbors and "pass a hat" to get the money.
Don’t tell anyone I told you, but antifreeze is sweet (dogs lap it right up) and very poisonous, it doesn’t work right away, the animals will go somewhere else to die. Only as a last resort!!

    This is CRUEL! Maybe talk to your neighbors and see is they are their dogs first. If they are stray I would call the animal control or someone in your area that deals with strays….just don’t poison them of hurt them in any way…dogs bark like we talk…you know?
    They can’t help how they communicate! Maybe you should move. I guess next time you should take these kinds of things into consideration. Think about it ….your talking to someone and someone is annoyed by you and slips something into your drink and the next thing you know..your in the hospital or you never wake up! Animals have rights too!

    your sick. you need help!!! you cannot just kill dogs for your own benefit!!! if you think it’s so harmless, let someone do it to you, or swallow some led to shut yourself up so you can’t ever hear the dogs again! jerk!!!

    Call animal control. You know, in certain states you can be arrested for animal cruelty- even if they are strays. Would you like it if someone poisoned your pet?? Get used to the barking or shut the hell up. You’re just sick!

    This is not the dogs fault – it is the owners. Contact animal control and tell them the problem. If it is as bad as you say other neighbors may be complaining. If they belong to your neighbors the owners may be fined or something more serious. If the dogs are strays they will be picked up. Please do not try to ‘fix’ this yourself. OTC drugs could kill also.     talk to the owners and let them know. if you feed the dogs anything that hurts them you can be in BIG trouble. i mean like jail for a long time.
    there are shock collars that keep dogs from barking. that is a lot nicer than poisioning them.
    DO NOT FEED THEM ANY THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    maybe they are trying to tell you to get a life and get up before the crack of noon….
    If you yell at them they just think you are barking with them not trying to get them to be quiet.

    Dogs bark!!! get over it and do the right thing talk to your neighbors about controlling their dogs contact locat police for help. For real why would u wanna hurt the animals?
    Remeber responsible pet owners will be very aplogetic and will accomodate u unless u r just a nasty dog hater.
