One solutions is to give some vitamin mainly for dogs such as vitamin c, this will more a less will help some to restrengthen your great Dane immune system. But if water been sitting for awhile ( a few days ) it can be filled with mosquito,s and larva. Also to much water on a Great Dane can cause bloat ( the stomach flips ) My Great Dane died from bloat, He was eating to much snow back when i lived in a snowing climate.Few signs My Great Dane was ill, he just went asleep in morning found him dead. Had him to Vet for autopsy, it was Bloat. So be careful on how much water a Great Dane and other large Breeds drink at one time.
